A takeover series by Cristina Guerrero Fernández
Cristina Guerrero Fernández is a Barcelona-born creative director exploring the line between art, culture and storytelling to inspire new ways of seeing. With a research-based approach that is often developed from readings or visual references, Cristina’s creative process remains fluid and collaborative, fuelled by passions and personal interests.
In a new series for AÃRK titled ‘A (des)hora,’—a Catalan word that means “out of time”—photographic manipulations such as scanning and collage imbue a sense of illusion and multiplicity to evoke the intangibility of time. The series includes two archival photographs that expand this concept. One presents a sundial object that dates back to the 17th century; the second image portrays the artwork Untitled (Perfect Lovers) (1987–1990) by Félix González-Torres, who installed two identical, mass-produced clocks next to each other, initially set to the same time until they fell out of sync.
Shared during a week-long takeover on Instagram @cristinaguerrero_f embraces creative freedom and play, exploring materiality and combinations with interchangeable straps.
